The LM7808CV is a fixed output, three-terminal precision positive voltage regulator in 3 pins TO-220 package. This regulator can provide local on-card regulation by eliminating distribution problems associated with single-point regulation. The L7808 fixed voltage regulator is designed with thermal overload protection that shuts down the circuit when subjected to an excessive power overload condition, internal short circuit protection that limits the maximum current the circuit will pass, and output transistor safe area compensation that reduces the output short circuit as the voltage across the pass transistor is increased.

These devices consist of two independent voltage comparators that are designed to operate from a single power supply over a wide range of voltages. Operation from dual supplies also is possible as long as the difference between the two supplies is 2 V to 36 V, and VCC is at least 1.5 V more positive than the input common-mode voltage. Current drain is independent of the supply voltage. The outputs can be connected to other open-collector outputs to achieve wired-AND relationships.

The LM193 device is characterized for operation from 55C to 125C. The LM293 and LM293A devices are characterized for operation from 25C to 85C. The LM393 and LM393A devices are characterized for operation from 0C to 70C. The LM2903 device is characterized for operation from 40C to 125C.

AMS1117 is a series of low dropout three-terminal regulators with a dropout of 1.8V at 1A load current. AMS 1117 features a very low standby current of 2mA compared to the 5mA of a competitor. Other than a fixed version, Vout = 1.2V, 1.5V, 1.8V, 2.5V, 3.3V, 5V, and 12V, AMS1117 has an adjustable version, which can provide an output voltage from 1.25 to 12V with only two external resistors. AMS 1117 offers thermal shut down and current limit functions, to assure the stability of the chip and power system. And it uses a trimming technique to guarantee output voltage accuracy within 2%. Other output voltage accuracy can be customized on demand, such as 1%.
